How to Measure Your Nails Without a Kit

Not ready to order a sizing kit? No problem — you can still find your perfect Claw Room fit at home.

What You’ll Need

  • A soft measuring tape (in millimeters), or
  • A thin strip of paper, a pen, and a ruler

Step 1: Start Fresh

Remove any polish or press-ons. You’re measuring your natural nail bed.

Step 2: Measure the Width (Sidewall to Sidewall)

With a soft measuring tape: Lay it lightly across the widest part of your nail from edge to edge.

With a paper strip: Place the strip straight across the widest point of your nail (do not wrap). Make a tiny mark where each sidewall touches the strip. Lay the strip flat against a ruler and measure the distance between the marks in millimeters.

Step 3: Record Each Nail

Write down the measurement for every finger on both hands — it’s normal if they’re a little different. If you are in between sizes SIZE UP and lightly file them down to your perfect fit.

Step 4: Put your MM measurements or Tip Size thumb-pinky left and right hand in box at checkout.
